Ballymackey u14 girls started their league campaign with a 4-1 win over Cloughjordan tonight, with two new debutants on the panel marina varela girafdez and Alina guzun. in the first half ballymackey struggled to impose themselves on the game but came close to taking the lead twice through Grainne Troy. Scoreless at half time Ballymackey opened the scoring ten minutes into the second half with a powerful drive from Charlotte Deegan into the corner of the net, a few minutes later is was two when Abigail Armstrong stepped forward from Centre back and played a delightful cross field ball to Olivia Looby who turned her marker and struck a shot from out side the area into the roof of the net. Some sloppy play at the back allowed Cloughjordan to pull a goak back and it was game on. Ballymackey scored an all important third goal through Alina guzun with a powerful left foot finish, 5 minutes from time it was 4 when lily Kate kenneally played a lovely pass to Olivia Looby who took one touch to control and with her second blasted to the net, at the back Abigail armstrong and Anna Fitzgerald were solid throughout, lily Kate kenneally and Grainne Troy ran the midfield. Olivia Looby was a constant thorn in cloughjordans side, Alina guzun showed great endeavour on her debut and Charlotte Deegan lead the line expertly throughout.
