U12 Girls V Bt Harps

Our ever improving girls played Bt Harps today in Templemore. Conditions perfect, it led to a great tussle between the teams. Both teams went at it hammer and tongs, and it was very entertaining for all who were watching. We had a slightly different formation today with Caoimhe Manley joining Callie Mitchell upfront. We had Maeve Quinn sitting a deeper in midfield, helping the back 3 of Holly Fitzpatrick, Eva Bailey and Kate England. Lily Dunne played a new role today out on the wing and her athleticism stood well to her here. Sally Mounsey done very well on the other wing too. It was nil nil at half time and no sign of an opener. Katie was playing very well for us in goals, some solid saves and brilliant kick outs. The second half was much the same as the first, with our girls giving it everything. Clara Kennedy's introduction in the first half paid dividends as she helped keep the Bt girls out. Elsa Fitzgerald, Abbie Hogan, Aisling Ryan, Leanne Bergin and Ciara Grimes all made positive contributions when introduced also. Unfortunately, Bt got the first goal. It was advantage to them now, and they defended well after this. They got another soon after giving them a 2 nil win.
Our girls were super today despite the result and are getting better each week.
Well done to Bt on a sporting and entertaining win. Thanks to our ref today also.
