Ballymackey U12 Boys 1st division side played against Knigh United in Ballinree this morning. The spirited game finished 4-1 in favour of the away team. The score line didn't reflect the game from a Ballymackey point of view however as it was closely fought contest which the home side were very unlucky not to score at least two more goals. We had plenty of shots on the knigh goal including a penalty miss. We were fortunate to have some good players come up from U11 including Darragh Kelly, Evan Ryan Noah Ryan and Paddy Daly all of whom made big contributions. Darragh Hartnett pulled off some fine saves in goals while his back three of Max Swan, Evan Ryan and Darragh Kelly all played well. Shane Conway linked up well on left wing and provided good ball for others on many occasions. James Kennedy played well in mid field but came into his own at center back when he moved in the second half. Artisom Deane had a great shot deflected but Patrick o Brien was in the right place at the right time to peg one back for Ballymackey. Evan Ryan showed a huge amount of energy and skill throughout the game as did Darragh Kelly. Well done to Knigh United.
