Phase 1 of Ballymackey Fc's Building Development is well under way with foundations completed and block work progressing. Ballymackey FC have been lucky to secure €302500 capital from Tipperary Development Company, Sports Capital and Uefa Grants towards this 3 phase development, but the the development will necessitate a further €190000 in funding to complete.

Ballymackey will be launching some fundraising initiatives to supplement our current Annual Development Fundraiser, our Patrons Draw. The first of these initiatives where we hope our families from the Agricultural Community will donate and rare calfs for the Club was launched on Thursday 16th of January. The first group of farmers that have volunteered for the scheme met at a launch night in Ballinree, which IFA President Elect Tim Cullinan attended. These farmers are going to help us approach others in the Dairy and Beef sector with a view of getting at least 30 on board to give us a fundraiser that should return €30000 in 2 years, just in time to allow phase 3 of the building to progress. We are delighted to have 6 Agri-companies, Arrabawn Co-op, Agritech Feeds, Central Auctions, Progressive genetics (Dan Duignan), Liffey Mills and Toomevara Agri/J.Grennans on board to help support the Farmers in the raring of the Calves.

How is it going to work?

In Spring 2020 any dairy farmer that is taking part in this fundraising event will donate and rare a calf.

In Autumn 2020, we will collect the weanling from the dairy farmer and deliver it to a local beef farmer, these beef farmers will then winter and keep the weanling until autumn of 2021.

All the cattle will be collected and sold at central auctions livestock mart.

All proceeds from the sales will be used for the sole purpose of completing the development in Ballinree
