Ballymackey U13B girls travelled to Shinrone for what proved to be a very entertaining game of football. Ballymackey made a solid start and Mioda O'Shea shot went narrowly wide in the 4th minute. The pressure eventually paid off and Ballymackey took the lead after 7 minutes. Mioda O'Shea making no mistake this time as she tucked the ball away following good build up play by Grace Quinn. It then turned into the Olivia Looby show as she scored twice to give Ballymackey a 3-0 lead after 24 minutes. Ava Quigley made some good saves as Shinrone got more into the game but their good play was rewarded as Shinrone pulled 2 goals back just before half time to leave the half time score 3-2 to the visitors.

Shinrone dominated most of the second half buoyed on by their confidence building end to the first half. They scored 3 goals in the 10th, 12th and 29th minutes of the second half to close out the game. Ballymackey at times played some good football and all 12 girls got plenty of game time. Special mention to Alannah O'Dwyer who made her goalkeeping debut in the 2nd half in what was a tough away game. This squad continues to learn from days like today and we always learn more from disappointing defeats. Today's squad was: Ava Quigley, Hazel O'Donovan, Jenna Hackett, Shauna Looby, Olivia Looby, Aileen Moroney, Grace Quinn, Anna Lee, Alannah O'Dwyer, Ella Frend, Mioda O'Shea (Captain) and Aisling Kennedy who narrowly missed the photo before kick off.
