We had the first outing for new Senior Women's team as we hosted Lough Derg in Ballinree. Great to see Lough Derg FC also venturing into the adult women's game and we look forward to many battles in the years to come. For this game Ballymackey had the upper hand, we have a bit more training done than our visitors and despite being a very young side we had 7 players with previous Senior experience to call on and this was a big advantage on the night.
It was a huge occasion for the club with Dani Slattery, Michaela Lillis, Noelle Hassett and Leah Mcloughney all making their debut for the club.
The night also saw Laura McCarthy and Amy Bergin move on from juvenile football having played at all age grades from U8 with the Club.
A large crop of last seasons U16s made their debut at Senior level with Samantha Hogan, Chloe McAuliffe, Andrea Brennan and Anna Grace all showing they were more than able to mix it with adult players. A great first outing for the team, some great goals and as the game wore on we started to become more cohesive as a team as the girls started to gel together. This all bodes well for the future of this team, who now look forward to the start of the Tipperary Ladiessoccer League 20x20.ie
